Wine industry receives ‘positive support’ from Prentis

The English and Welsh wine industry gained "positive support" from the agriculture minister, Victoria Prentis, in a meeting between Wine GB and DEFRA officials, the industry’s body has said.

The government has delayed the VI-1 wine certification for wine imported to the UK from the EU by six months.

Industry needs to ‘redouble efforts’ to scrap VI-1s

Victoria Prentis, minister for fishing and farming, this week confirmed that the government will “consider in due course whether there is a case for revisiting the requirements of the VI-1 certification”.
